Riu Guanacaste

Nice rooms that are clean and comfortable.
A. C. worked well. Good food. Amazingly free from bugs in February. Great pool and people. Only negative was that the screeching hot sun made the balcony unbearable late afternoon until it set.

Small Town America

Spending the day cruising the countryside.

A halo in the clouds.

Just a cool shot of something I caught out the window. A halo surrounding the shadow of our airplane that was cast on the clouds.

The show goes on

Anyone who has stayed at an all-inclusive resort has experienced "The Show". Love it or hate it from the guest end, the staff works hard to put on a big show almost every night at most resorts. These people work all day and put on their show after dinner. The good ones engage you in the fun and keep you from turning on the TV.

Some guests nap or sleep late just to be able to enjoy the casino, disco and night time entertainment. Some use the resort as a home base from which to explore the neighborhood  and skip the night life. Some do both and burn the candle at both ends.

Basically, like all vacations,  you need to find what makes you happy and go with it. Just be sure to have a day or two to recover from your vacation when you get back home.
